Faith Moves

Mp3 audio sermon

Mark 2:1-12 And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.

Faith Moves

Mark 2:1-12 And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.

And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your bed and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--he said to the paralytic--"I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home."

And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"

Consider what is shown about their faith

Boldness

Removed a roof

Mark 11:22-23 And Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Little Engine that Could - "I think I can!"

Trusted others would accept actions, or willing to suffer consequences to accomplish goal

“This is what I believe.”

Are you Bold because of your Faith?

Caring

Took action because of care & concern toward another

James 2:14-16 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

Not what we say, but what we do!

Demonstrated their care for this friend

Is your Faith demonstrated by your Care for others?

Continuing

Stayed at it until they accomplished their goal

I will! Not I wanted to.

There are no obstacles that cannot be overcome if we have true Faith!

1Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"

These men were determined to see it through

Do obstacles cause you to turn back or to look for another way? True faith will simply search for another way.

We must approach with Faith that we can overcome

1John 4:4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1John 5:4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

Are you letting the Power of God work through you?

Don't let the things of this life get in the way of doing God's Will!

Trust that God will help you and you can overcome any obstacle!

Let your Faith Move you beyond the obstacles of life!
